
The Weber State University Department of Performing Arts presents guest artist Tadeu Coelho, flute, in recital, on Thursday, November 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the Garrison Choral Room (BC136), Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts. He will also be conducting a Master Class for the WSU flute students immediately following (from 11:30-12:20), also in rm.136. The public is welcome to either of these events.
Tadeu Coelho, a native of Brazil, received his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Manhattan School Of Music as a student of Julius Baker and Ransom Wilson. He currently teaches at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He was also associate professor of flute at the University of Iowa and assistant professor of flute at the University of New Mexico. He frequently appears as soloist, chamber musician, and master clinician in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He was a guest artist with the Boston Pops in 1996. He has recorded eight CDs.
